Matsutaro was an anthropomorphic bear who worked as a yojimbo for Merchant Kaiko.

Character HistoryEdit

Matsutaro was a blustering samurai who was actually a great coward. Through his attitude, he managed to intimidate many people in the town where the Kaiko Silk Works were located. He asked only for a pittance as a salary, which ensured his popularity with his employer, who was a notorious miser.

When Miyamoto Usagi arrived in the town, he quickly saw through Matsutaro's facade. By telling Matsutaro that he would soon have to fight the brigands who were threatening the annual Silk Fair, he revealed Matsutaro's true nature. The yojimbo fled town rather than stay and fight, and was never seen again.
